Here's a list of the speakers with a short bio.
Alex McElroy is an international speaker, apologist, leadership advisor, podcaster, author of the book “Blueprint for Bible Basics" and writer of the blog entitled “The Relentless Pursuit of Purpose.” He is a founding Pastor of Engage Community Church and formerly the Pastor of Education at New Life Covenant Southeast Church, led by Pastor John F. Hannah. For over 14 years Alex has served in both youth and adult teaching ministries. Alex has trained hundreds of teachers and ministers so they are equipped to deliver lessons in Biblical study, purpose, leadership and Apologetics in order to maximize their effectiveness in and for the Kingdom of God. He is a firm believer that everyone is born on purpose with a purpose. He teaches people all over the world to find the purpose God has placed inside of them and to deliver it to the world.
He is a three-time graduate of the CrossExamined Instructors Academy (Apologetics) and of the Emerging Apologists Program at RZIM (Ravi Zacharias International Ministries). He has also served with RZIM on University Missions. He now travels the country teaching and communicating evidence for the faith.
He is supported by his wife of 10 years and 2 loving daughters.
Dr. eric mason
Dr. Eric Mason is the founder and pastor of Epiphany Fellowship in Philadelphia, PA. He and his wife Yvette have three sons and one living daughter. After more than two decades of gospel ministry, Dr. Mason has become known for his passion to see the glory of Jesus Christ robustly and relevantly engaged in broken cities with the comprehensive gospel. He helps coach and train families to plant churches locally, nationally, and internationally. He is the founder and president of Thriving, an urban resource organization committed to developing leaders for ministry in the urban context, and is the author of four books, Manhood Restored, Beat God to the Punch, Unleashed, and Woke Church. He is the recipient of multiple earned degrees, including a BS in Psychology from Bowie State University, a Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Doctoral degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
Public speaker, host and apologist Brittney Brown is a rising communicator in media and theology. She’s worked for music legend Stevie Wonder’s 102.3 FM, as a news anchor, personality and host for the nationally syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show as well as one of the largest religious networks in the world.
After encountering a series of questions that nearly dismantled her entire Christian worldview, Brittney earned her Master’s in Christian apologetics from Biola University. Today she enjoys equipping young adults to defend their faith from pop culture contentions using verifiable truth, humor and personal stories to connect with and encourage authentic Christian discipleship.
Destry Wilborn is a Chicago native and community leader with a passion for helping boys successfully transition into manhood with a clear sense of identity and purpose. As a veteran police detective with over 20 years of experience fighting on the front lines of one of the most dangerous cities in the country, he saw violence and lack of leadership destroy entire communities. As CEO of Men of Purpose, Journey to Self-Discovery he walks young men from from male identity to servant leadership. He is a graduate of Crossexamined Instructor's Academy for Apologetics.
Nick Rivera is from Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood and currently resides on Chicago's west side in Garfield Park with his wife Santy and their 3 children Laila, Isaiah, Jeremiah. He has served with a number of ministries throughout Chicago since 2000 from Inner City Impact, Grip Outreach for Youth, Park Community Church and New Life Covenant Church. Nick currently is Director of Youth Discipleship at By The Hand Club for Kids. Nick also recently planted Engage Community Church in Chicago's East Garfield Park neighborhood. He envisions a church who displays the greatest apologetic - love of Christ - to their neighbor's and makes disciples.
